Height. Up to 50cm


Leaves. Keeled  folded leaves at the base of the plant and smaller, narrower stem leaves.


Flowers.  Loose cluster of white flowers with white, frilly lips and reddish sepals that look like wings. 


Flowering period. May - June


Soil type. Fens, damp grassland, marshes and dune slacks, especially with chalky soils. A rare plant but can be found in large numbers where present.
